Dials is a superb one-day festival hosted in 5 venues along one street in Southsea, Portsmouth. Bringing together emerging talent from across the UK all in aid of Solent Mind, a charity that supports mental health issues, the diverse selection of 40 acts were headlined by the UK 3-piece The Blinders, who delivered an incredible live show to an appreciative crowd in the Wedgewood Rooms.
Other artists I caught at Dials 2019 included Wych Elm, Amy Vix, Another Sky, Bash, Beja Flo, Drug Store Romeos, Emilia Tarrant, Haze, Libra Libra, Madonnatron, Megan Lara Mae, Rosie Alena, Saltwater Sun, Sarpa Salpa, Tom Bryan, Walt Disco and Winter Gardens.
Abbie Eales, festival director said: “The mission of the Dials team is to create events to support new musical artists promoting a culture of discovery and inclusion, all in aid of Solent Mind. Dials is a festival of discovery and innovation, bringing the very best new acts to Portsmouth. We want to ensure we are inclusive of all members of the musical community. Above all Dials will be a celebration of artistic expression and the joy that music can bring. As well as raising awareness and funds for Solent Mind, Dials Festival also strives to nurture and support local artists while building a sense of community.”
Can’t wait for next year.
