On Monday October 8, 2018, I was fortunate to witness an outstanding performance by J. Cole for his KOD tour in Washington DC at the Capital One Arena. I’ve been following Cole’s career since I heard his song “In The Morning” featuring Drake. I never imagined I’d be seeing Cole perform for the third time.

I may be a bit biased because I am a fan, but when watching Cole perform I remember his naturally genuine energy when he was on stage and gave us (the audience) the advice to never give up. I personally would call this his “0-100 No Shortcuts” speech!

Along with his uplifting messages in between songs, he delivered a sentimental performance of “Love Yourz” from his album “2014 Forest Hills Drive” and performed his song “KOD” while GOAT emojis flooded the screens behind him. He kept the attention of the audience and managed to make us feel like this huge arena was an intimate concert. I will never forget that.

It was great to capture J. Cole along with one of his opening acts, Young Thug. A few of these images can also be found below.

It goes without saying that if you catch wind of J. Cole passing through your city, do yourself a favour and book tickets right away! You wont be dissapointed!
