Nashville’s independent radio station Lightning 100 featured the return of Live On The Green festival. This is a free Music Festival hosted at a Public Square Park in downtown Nashville and has quickly become known as one of the favourites. Live on The Green recently celebrated its eleventh year on August 15th.
The rest of the dates for the festival will be taking place on three consecutive Thursdays, a Saturday and a Sunday.
The first night of the festival saw Lucie Silvas, Yola, The Strumbellas and Texas blues-rock guitar slinger Gary Clark Jr perform blistering sets for an excited audience. Although the festival is free, there is the opportunity to upgrade to 3 different levels of VIP. We were lucky to win 2 backstage access VIP tickets. These included unlimited drinks, delicious southern inspired food and more. These tickets can be purchased in advance at liveonthegreen.com. Given our experience, I highly recommend that you treat yourself to VIP access.
We showed up just in time for The Strumbellas and Gary Clark Jr. Here is a little gallery of what we saw.
