Premiere of Did You Die's New Single

Victoria, BC four-piece Did You Die have released a new single and video for ‘Carry On’. The single was recorded by Jordan Koop (Dead Soft, The Courtneys) at The Noise Floor. Did You Die plans to release a few more singles this year, all leading up to the eventual release of their debut LP, ‘Royal Unicorn’, set for a fall 2018 release.

‘Carry On’ showcases a huge step forward in the band’s progression, as frontman Richie Felix Alexander’s song craftmanship has grown. If some of Did You Die’s previous outings could be called lo-fi, ‘Carry On’ definitely breaks away from that.

The band’s musical touchstones are still the same, as Alexander draws from shoegaze, indie rock and post-punk. That said, it’s a lot harder to pin-point said influences, or say that Did You Die sounds like any particular ‘90s riff’ this time around, as material like ‘Carry On’ combines all of their influences into something really unique and special.

To follow, ‘Carry On’ is a visually stimulating video that hooks you in from the first few seconds, leaving you on the edge of your seat until the very last chord. The video takes you on a captivating story line though many twists and turns, including a late night run-in with longtime Victoria music staple Don Chessa. Stay tuned for more Did You Die releases and tour info in the coming months.

This single has been released independently and will be available on April 14th via Spotify and Apple Music. The band will also be having a release party on the same date at the Subculture club, Victoria, BC, with The New Rituals. Head on over to Facebook to find out more.
