For the month of April our series sheds light on the incredible work of Josh Groom. This Australian photographer has a love for the art of concert photography that shows in every shot that he captures, We decided to showcase his work as his catalogue continually pleases the eye of the viewer.
We asked Josh a few questions around his favorite bands to shoot and the reasons behind his love for concert photography
WHAT IS YOUR GO TO CAMERA & LENS AT THIS POINT IN TIME?
I use a Canon Mark III and my favourite lenses are an L series 24-70mm, a 100m Macro and a canon 70-3-- IS
WHAT IS YOUR BACKGROUND IN THE ARTS?
I come from a film and productive background and the turnaround from inception to the final product can be like telling a joke and waiting 3 months for anyone to laugh. I also just love music and there's nothing like seeing a great band play live in front of an appreciative audience
TALK TO US ABOUT YOUR FAVOURITE ARTISTS YOU HAVE SHOT AND WHY
My favourite band to shoot would be The Preatures, Gang Of Youths, The Snowdroppers and Ecca Vandal. For international bands, i would have to say Kiss, Nine Inch Nails, Royal Blood and Foo Fighters. They are all dynamic, explosive and charismatic performers, which is a dream to shoot
