By Matthew Cohen

Kicking off the 2018 festival season May 2nd through the 4th, Atlanta’s Shaky Knees Festival will be returning to Central Park in the historic Old Fourth Ward. The same location where it earned the honour in 2015 of being named “one of the 50 must-see festivals” by Rolling Stone Magazine.

Following a 2017 lineup that included LCD SoundsystemThe XXPhoenixCage the Elephant, Bleachers, and The Revivalists, 2018 promises to deliver with the headlining acts of Jack White, Queens of the Stone Age, The National and Tenacious D.

David Byrne, who is on his first solo tour in almost 10 years, will be performing on day one. The Talking Heads frontman says this is “the most ambitious show I’ve done since the shows that were filmed for ‘Stop Making Sense”. With that statement, we won’t be missing what he has in store for us.

Also on the schedule is Atlanta’s own Manchester Orchestra. The Shaky Knees veteran will be playing two shows before kicking off their festival tour. Be sure and check out their latest album, “A Black Mike to the Surface”. Ian Cohen from Pitchfork.com states, “it’s their most confounding and thrilling work yet, with the most grandiose narrative concepts, production, and arrangements of their career.”
