A capacity crowd was on hand to watch the chart topping Alternative Rock band Trapt perform at Club L.A. in Destin, Florida. Trapt is currently on a 52 city tour with Saliva and Tantric as opening acts. The band has produced 6 top 40 songs including their #1 hit Headstrong. Current band members include Chris Taylor Brown - lead vocals, Pete Charell - bass guitar, Brendan Hengle - lead guitar and Mike Smith - drums.

Trapt was the last band scheduled to perform.  Due to unforeseen circumstances they were late arriving to the venue. I used the time during the delay to talk to some of the crowd.  Nicole, a huge fan of the band, has seen Trapt perform multiple times.  She recently moved to Destin from Las Vegas. After the move Nicole was disappointed to learn that Trapt had scheduled a concert in Las Vegas. However, she was elated upon finding out they were performing in Destin. She thought it was great that the band played shows in smaller localities.

The band eventually arrived at the venue a little after 11:00 PM.  The band took the at 11:30 PM stage after a quick setup. Still Frame, from their debut album Trapt, was the first song of the night. Brown made up for lost time by putting on a high charged performance.  He darted back and forth across the stage with microphone in hand, in fluid motions, arousing the crowd. The band belted out songs from their Only Through The Pain and Someone in Control albums as well as their new song Fire, and a cover of Audioslave’s Like A Stone. The show ended with the band performing Headstrong.

It was a long night for me.  Club L.A. is an hour and a half drive from my house.  When I arrived, I had to wait outside the club for two hours until an issue with my photo pass was resolved. However, it was worth the wait.  All three bands put on a great performance. I would highly recommend attending one of their upcoming shows if you have the opportunity.
