It was a night full of energy. Xavier brought his full band and played various songs with the guitar, harmonica, didgeridoo, lap steel guitar and percussion. People danced to the music, sang along the songs, enjoyed the ride Xavier took us on.

Xavier released his first studio album To Let back in 2002, and his latest album Storm Boy came out May last year (2018). His songs are themed around human rights, spirituality, environmental issues and other social issues.

As I stood there, seeing everyone enjoying the show, I thought to myself that this is what music is about – regardless of your gender, your ethnicity, your cultural background, we fundamentally share the same needs, desires and emotions, and it’s liberating to know that we can all celebrate together through music.
