Julie Worthen’s Articles

My name is Julie Worthen I am 24 and I am a concert photographer from New England. I have received higher level education in the necessary skills to be a photographer in today's modern world, but have maintained the raw and natural eye that I have developed from a young age. This combination gives my photos a polished, yet genuine aesthetic. I got into concert photography because I grew up in a musical family. Music is something that has been instilled in me since I could crawl. I have a genuine appreciation for how hard the artist work and want to do that its due diligence. When taking pictures I try and see what others don’t in order to add an additional feel to the photo.

Photography is more than capturing a moment for me. It is seizing the energy, taking in the chemistry, and telling a story without the use of words. When a person looks at my photos they are able to feel the music without hearing it. The adrenaline rush I get when doing concert photography is what truly made me fall in love, my need to nail the shots, do something different, capture the artist and find the lights at the right moment told me this is going to be my career.

I have been doing photography for over 6 years however I decided to turn my passion into my career a little over a year ago. I have been shooting and writing for Audio-Love for about 6 months. You can also see my work at www.julieworthenphoto.com as well as on my instagram @julieworthen.
