The Masquerade – Atlanta, Ga.
In This Moment’s Half God-Half Devil Tour rolled into the Heaven Stage at Atlanta’s The Masquerade. Having sold-out several shows during the current tour, Atlanta was no exception and fans packed the venue hours prior to In This Moment taking the stage. The Los Angeles quintet, led by the stunning Maria Brink, have carved out a reputation of putting on dynamically impressive metal-core concerts that take on a horror-movie theme with plenty of costume changes, morbid make-up, stage props and heavy fog.
The headline show is kicked off with Brink and her back-up dancers walking down the stage to low purple strobe lights and heavy smog to heavy cheers and applause. The remaining band members soon join Brink on stage and breakout to perform heavy-hitting single “Blood;” the popular track sets the tone for a night of theatrical wildness and excellent tunes. With the entire crowd wrapped around her little finger, Brink and Co. go on to put a show of grand proportions. Performing tracks like “Black Widow,” “Adrenalize,” and “Sick Like Me” invite the crowd members to join in and sing-along and, of course, an abundance of crowd-surfers and mosh-pits, which create an even more untamed atmosphere. However, the apotheosis of the night comes way of show finale “Whore.” Brink is decked in white sensual attire and a classic dunce hat with “Whore” in large red lettering. In This Moment kicks ass with the best of them and gives their crowd one last intense performance packed with balloons, creative visuals and a moment post-song to thank her crowd. In This Moment are quite the attraction and must-see act when in town. Through-out the years their performances have been rated top-notch and provide fans with a euphoria-like sense that carries over for days, not just for the moment.
