Talib Kweli brought his act to The Lof in Atlanta, Georgia. Scheduled for an 8:00PM start, the show did not begin until 9:05PM causing the crowd to be a little more anxious for the concert to commence. Once on stage, Kweli more than made up for the late initiation, sporting a black leather cap with a stitched white “Brooklyn” onto it, Kweli hits the stage with ferocious rhymes, high fives and fist pumps that had the crowd jumping and chanting to his lyrics. Accompanied on stage only by his DJ, Kweli & Co. work tirelessly in creating a friendly atmosphere which is exuded by them requesting and imploring the fans to shake hands and greet their neighbors.
On stage, Kweli is boss; he delivers razor sharp lyrics on command, is constantly and continuously in synch with the flow of the music and knows exactly how ofen and when to address his crowd. Upon performing his hit "Get By", Kweli procures all in attendance to conjugate in song and dance, while lighting up cellphones and lighters, the highlight of the performance, in my opinion.
Talib Kweli, who is well respected and liked in all hip hop circles, is known as a thinking man’s rapper. While his shows are all about the music, the fun and the fans, Kweli makes sure the messages behind his lyrics don’t go unnoticed. If you’re a fan of cultured hip hop, friendly atmospheres, and excellent entertainment then be sure to add a Talib Kweli concert to your bucket list!!
