Lovely Little Lonely Tour with The Maine
The Maine hit the stage at Emo’s in Austin, TX on their Lovely Little Lonely Tour, which included other acts such as The Mowgli’s and Beach Weather. I was able to catch them last summer in 2016 on the Vans Warped Tour so I was excited to see them indoors with flashing lights and a much cooler setting than being outside. The stage was decorated with clouds and lights as a backdrop, which was one of the nicest setups I have seen from them over the years.
The boys from Arizona are fresh off their sixth album Lovely Little Lonely that debuted last month. The Maine did what they always do live and worked the stage all night, making for an unforgettable performance. Bassist Garrett Nickelsen is a perfect compliment to front man John O’Callaghan who both have always been so energetic since first seeing them perform years ago. The set started off with one of their newer songs “Black Butterflies & Déjà Vu” along with some of my favorites “Am I Pretty?” and “English Girls”. One of the things that I absolutely love about this band is their interaction with the crowd throughout the entire show. It’s always memorable when artists take time through their set to get a feel for the fans.
If they happen to be passing through your city i highly recommend going to see them as you will not be disappointed!
